Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our healthcare team. As a Physician Assistant, you will work under the supervision of licensed physicians to provide high-quality medical care to patients across the lifespan. You will assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic health conditions, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and promote patient wellness and education.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests, to evaluate patients’ health status and identify health needs.
- Diagnosis and Treatment: Make differential diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and prescribe medications and therapies based on evidence-based practice guidelines and clinical judgment.
- Acute and Chronic Care: Provide timely assessment and management of acute illnesses and injuries, as well as ongoing care for patients with chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma.
- Preventive Care: Perform health screenings, immunizations, and preventive health counseling to promote wellness and prevent disease.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their health conditions, treatment options, medications, and lifestyle modifications, empowering them to actively participate in their healthcare.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, consult on complex cases, and ensure continuity of care.
- Procedural Skills: Assist with and perform medical procedures and minor surgical interventions, such as suturing, wound care, and joint injections, as allowed by state regulations and under physician supervision.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR), including patient assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and evidence-based practice activities to enhance patient care outcomes and clinical practice.
- Professional Development: Stay abreast of current medical literature, clinical guidelines, and best practices through continuing education, professional conferences, and self-directed learning.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
- Licensure/Certification: Current licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of practice. National certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required.
- Experience: Previous experience working as a Physician Assistant in primary care, urgent care, or a related specialty area preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and medical technology.
- Compassion: Genuine empathy and compassion for patients and their families.
- Autonomy: Ability to work independently, make sound clinical decisions, and manage a diverse patient population under physician supervision.
- Ethics: Commitment to ethical principles, confidentiality, and professional conduct in all interactions.
