Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a Physical Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping patients restore function, relieve pain, and improve mobility following injury, surgery, or illness. You will assess patients’ physical abilities, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to promote optimal recovery and rehabilitation.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ musculoskeletal and neuromuscular function, including range of motion, strength, balance, posture, and functional mobility.
- Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients’ assessments, medical history, goals, and clinical reasoning, using evidence-based practice guidelines and therapeutic modalities.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Implement therapeutic interventions and techniques, such as exercise therapy, manual therapy, therapeutic modalities (e.g., ultrasound, electrical stimulation), gait training, and functional activities, to address patients’ impairments and functional limitations.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, home exercise programs, injury prevention strategies, and adaptive equipment to promote self-management and optimize outcomes.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor patients’ progress throughout the course of treatment, reassessing their functional abilities and modifying treatment plans as needed to achieve therapeutic goals.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, consult on complex cases, and facilitate interdisciplinary rehabilitation programs.
- Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients’ needs, preferences, and rights within the healthcare system, ensuring they receive timely and appropriate care and support.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, outcome measurement tools, and research projects to enhance clinical practice and patient care outcomes.
- Professional Development: Stay abreast of current research, advances in physical therapy practice, and continuing education opportunities to maintain licensure and enhance clinical skills.
Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
- Licensure/Certification: Current licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) in the state of practice. CPR certification required.
- Experience: Previous experience working as a Physical Therapist in a clinical setting preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education abilities. Proficiency in therapeutic exercise prescription and manual therapy techniques.
- Compassion: Genuine empathy and compassion for patients and their families.
- Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and communicate professionally with patients and colleagues.
- Autonomy: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage a diverse caseload of patients.
- Ethics: Commitment to ethical principles, confidentiality, and professional conduct in all interactions.
