Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate dental hygienist to join our team. As a dental hygienist, you will play a crucial role in helping our patients achieve optimal oral health. You will perform preventive dental care, educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, and assist the dentist during dental procedures.

Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care:
    • Perform dental cleanings to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth.
    • Conduct comprehensive oral examinations to assess patients’ oral health.
    • Take and develop dental X-rays.
    • Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to prevent tooth decay.
  2. Patient Education:
    • Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and other oral hygiene techniques.
    • Provide guidance on nutrition and its impact on oral health.
    • Demonstrate proper use of dental hygiene devices such as toothbrushes and interdental cleaners.
  3. Periodontal Care:
    • Perform periodontal assessments and charting.
    • Administer local anesthesia and antimicrobial agents as directed by the dentist.
    • Assist in non-surgical periodontal therapy procedures such as scaling and root planing.
  4. Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
    • Document findings from oral examinations and treatments performed.
  5. Team Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with dentists and other dental professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
    • Assist with patient scheduling and coordination of treatment plans.
  6. Continuing Education:
    • Stay informed about advancements in dental hygiene practices and techniques.
    • Participate in continuing education courses to maintain licensure and enhance skills.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in dental hygiene from an accredited program.
  • Valid state dental hygiene license in good standing.
  • CPR certification.
  • Strong knowledge of dental hygiene principles and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Prior experience in a dental practice preferred but not required.
