Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for oral health, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to providing the highest level of patient care. As a Dental Hygienist at our practice, you will play a crucial role in helping patients maintain optimal oral health and hygiene.
Responsibilities:
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque, calculus, and stains from teeth.
- Conduct thorough oral examinations and assessments, including periodontal charting and oral cancer screenings.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized advice for maintaining oral health.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluoride treatments.
- Collaborate with dentists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting treatment and care provided.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and protocols.
- Assist with the management of dental emergencies as needed.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in dental hygiene and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
- Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
- Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
- Strong knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and radiographic techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to patient care and comfort.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in dental software and electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.
